I got my very first Voxbox yesterday and I am so excited to share what goodies I received. But first a little F.Y.I. I am receiving these products complimentary of Influenster for testing purposes.  Here's what was in the box:

Skinny Cow Divine filled chocolates
NYC New York HD color trio eye shadow
Rimmel London new Show Off lip lacquer
Puffs Ultra soft & strong to go tissue
Ducklings Mini Roll

Let me start off by saying how impressed I was with the Rimmel London Lip lacquer. It's basically a lipstick and a lip gloss combined into one in lip gloss packaging. Its has a fruity type of smell to it which I like and the color is extremely rich. It doesn't stain, but stays on the lips without the color fading quickly. I seriously love this product. This is something I typically wouldn't pick up from the drugstore, but now that I've tried it I want more colors. This is a lot coming from a beauty guru at a huge department store. Ha ha not really you guys know I love me some drug store beautyyyy. This is a A+ in my books the color I received is called 401 Aurora which is a fun strawberry red color.

My next favorite is the Skinny Cow Divine Filled Chocolates. #duh I mean I've never really tried these things before. I've seen them in the store just never bought them thinking they taste like dirt since they are the "skinny" version of chocolate. Because if we are going to be honest I love my See's Candy California Brittle. Anyways I got lucky to try the milk chocolate filled with peanut butter crème. Boy I wrong about these chocolates, they are delicious. I mean the peanut butter part literally melts in your mouth. One bare has 3 pieces of chocolate which is only 130 calories. I think everyone needs to try them A+ love

The NYC color trio palette is not too shabby. I really like the three shades which are perfect for an easy everyday basic eye look. Although I wish one of the colors could have been darker. There isn't too much drama in the colors. I would of added a bolder shade to make the shadows on the eyes pop more. But they quality is pretty decent. Nice pigment and blends well. C +

The Ducklings Mini roll is absolutely adorable. I have found no use for it yet, but I can see potential for it. I love the concept of it and how fun sized it is. I am giving this product a B-

Puffs Ultra soft & strong to go tissue pack is one of those thing I keep in my car, purse, and gym bag. These tissues always come in handy when you have them with you. I never really buy them for myself. I have also had them given to my from my mom. But yeah they are really just tissues nothing more to say. A-

D.I.Y. Embellished Beanie

I was wearing my new neon pink beanie yesterday, and my flower crown happened to be hanging up in the background. That instant I had an image in my head of what it would like on top my beanie. I tried it on and was like OMG YES. So then naturally I had to have an emergency arts and crafts hour. I grabbed any scrapped goods I had laying around and my hot glue gun and began to work. I happened to have an old jeweled necklace that was broken that I had kept. I ripped it apart and glued it on the green beanie. For the pink beanie I cut the stretchy band off from the flower crown and glued it on. Like guys this is so easy and I can't believe I haven't thought of it before. So go out now and get to craftin'

Tools Needed:
Beanie (new or old)
Flower Headband
Glue Gun

I got the pink beanie for sale from Cotton On for $3 and the lime green one from a store called LF in West Village this summer. Oh and lip color is Morange by MAC. P.S. this is a great D.I.Y. gift to give a sister, niece, or friend for the holidays. Super cheap and easy!!

Last night

So last night was just as amazing as the first time I saw Queen Bey. The only exception was that it was the abbreviated version of the first time we went. I'm thinking Bey must of been super exhausted being so fabulous and all. I will tell you that our seats were absolutely phenomenal. So a little F.I.Y. I bought these tickets for my brother as his Christmas present.
(hashtag BESTSISTEREVER) Anyways onto our seats, we were front and center in the most amazing suite. We had our very own server and all like we were royals. At one point during the show there were these spotlights shining on us and I felt I was one with Beyoncé. It was an unbelievable experience.

Sunday, December 8, 2013

Tomorrow will be the seconded biggest day in my life. It will be my seconded time to see Queen Beyoncé perform before my eyes. I am beyond out of my mind excited that I just might explode.

Dallas Ice Apocalypse 2013

So it was 80 the other day and magically over night it's a frozen wonderland. When I say I frozen I mean it, like ice ice baby. No snow here just solid cold ice. It's miserable because you slip and fall on your ass. You can't play in ice. But one good thing is that it's Saturday and I don't have to go into work. Best Saturday in a long time. I get sad when I see all the tress fallen over from the weight of the ice. But in a way it's beautiful and I kinda like it.

Don't you guys hate it when you go to Walmart to pick up things you need such as toilet paper, but get distracted. Like get lost in the beauty department that you actually forgot to buy the one thing you came into the store for. Seems to happen to me all the time.

Anyways, I left Walmart with this gorgeous blush by Hard Candy. It's called Honeymoon. I prefer it more as a luminizer than a actual blush. It's the perfect highlight for on top of the cheek bone and just above the brow. Color is a soft baby pink, with a ton of shimmer without being glittery. It gives you an amazing glow and is perfect to wear everyday. It's so intense that I haven't touch my Nars Albatross in days. Why I like Hard Candy's Honeymoon is that the light pink color looks well on my olive skin tone. It's so pretty that I just had to share the love.

Guys I couldn't get the right lighting for the product to show well on my hand, so don't judge. It's amazing I promise. So in love with this. You can get yours at Walmart where they sell it for $7, unreal #stupidcheap or get it online here

o o t d

Sometimes you gotta throw on your Beyoncé tee and call it a day. I am so loving the "wrap your flannel around your waist" trend. Sometimes I don't feel like I pull it off as well as other girls. Today I felt confident in it and had to rock it out. Although tomorrow I will probably be bundling up, since overnight we will be having a 'Winter Storm Watch". It was almost 80 degrees today. Nothing better  than a warm winter at least for the next few hours.

Brush love

I was my brushes almost once a week. I love doing it. There is nothing better than freshly cleaned brushes to apply your makeup. I like to wash mine with Johnson & Johnson lavender baby shampoo mixed with a drop of dishwasher soap. P.S. I just bought a few of the Real Techniques brushes and I LOVE them. Such a great price for quality brushes. You can buy them at Ulta and Walmart. I'm sure other stores carry them as well.

Get Creative

Hey guys here's an easy D.I.Y. for the holidays Or a fun unique gift under $30. It's super easy and anyone can do it. The UNG Drill is from Ikea and is $25 spray paint $3 from Walmart and Chalk Board paint about $5 from local craft stores.

You can get the drill here > UNG DRILL (I bought 2) So I thought I'd get creative and make a project out of them. Like everything else I spray painted them gold. They turned out beautiful and ended up looking super cute in my room. So much that I had to share with y'all. I left the frames empty and just hung them up on both sides of my bed.

FYI if you are one of those crafty people you can gift this to someone. I got a little bit more creative on this one and got some chalk board paint from Michaels and painted the glass. Then I got chalk and free handed some flower wreaths. Not my best designs, but it's something fun and cheap to do.

Nothing better than rocking this fall's beauty trends to the fullest. Boudior lips, defined eyes, bold brows and of course a beautiful contour. My favorite part about this years trend is the ox-blood deep statement lip. Finally a trend that isn't so boring, but stands out and makes a big impression.

Ladies and fabulous gentlemen let me introduce to you Train Bleu velvet matte lip pencil by Nars. This is my favorite emo/gothic/grungy lip ever. If you ever want to feel like a badass I highly recommend this color. I respect a girl who can rock a dramatic statement lip with no shame. This shade is the deepest aubergine you can find. I know this isn't every girls color, but ladies stop being basic and try it out. Trust me I'm a makeup artist. I get so many comments from strangers than when I wear my typical everyday peachy lip color. So if you have $25 bucks laying around go into Sephora or Nordstrom and get you some. Or if you're lazy order it here online. The pros about this product is that it's a stain so it last long time. It's rich in color and glides on easily. Now the cons are that it can be drying so apply a conditioning lip balm before applying the color.

Last weekend one of my old roomie's from Utah State was in town. I got to hang out with her just like old times.  Plus I got to do her makeup. She made my job easy which is obvious since she's such a babe. It was great seeing an old friend even if it was just for a day. Her hubby is applying to medical school.  They have been traveling to different places to apply. But let's cross our fingers they get accepted in Dallas. If they do then theres a chance that they can move out here and that would be awesome. I wouldn't mind having a one of my "Gina's" down here in the south with me.

Winter SKINCARE Routine

With Dallas being 75 one day and the 40 the next my poor skin can't keep up. My face is breaking out and is extremely dry. It's the worst. I just hate it when my skin is flaking. So I have decide to up my skincare game. I've invested in a hydrating serum, moisturizer, and exfoliator.

When I say 'invested' I mean it. Good skincare that works doesn't come cheap. Everyone should know this. I'd rather splurge on quality products for my face than cosmetics. Think about it. When your face looks and feels good you don't want to apply as much makeup.

I know I'm young but I feel that starting good skincare at 25 is crucial. Now is the time. I've heard several older women say that they wish they had paid for quality skincare when they were younger. #Trust

So here's the scoop, Kate Somerville is a skincare god. I have been using these three products for a little over a month and seen great results. It's all about taking time for your face, being consistent, and ALWAYS washing your face at night. Number 1 you need a active extoliator. Number 2 you NEED a serum I prefer a hydrating one since I'm extra dry. Finally number 3 moisturizer this is key to keeping your skin feeling it's best. (oh and having an eye cream is important too) I just haven't found 'the one' yet.

I have tried several exfoliaters in my past and none have stuck except for this one. F.Y.I. this is a very VERY active exfoliater   I like to use it in the shower. Trust me you will feel this product working. It's deep cleansing and polishes hardcore without over-drying the skin. I use this about twice a week.

Quench Face Serum

This serum makes my skin feel so smooth and my makeup look better. I love the texture, and how it feels. It's like a silky hydrating dream on your skin. I use this daily and nightly. Sometimes I get excited and put 2-3 pumps on, but normally one pump is enough for the whole face.

Age Arrest Anti-Wrinkle Cream
If you didn't know all of Kate's products smell amazing. This moisturizer smells so fresh. It has a medium thickness, but feels lightweight on skin without feeling greasy. What I love about Age Arrest is that it diminishes the appearance of wrinkles, hydrates, and reduces discoloration of the skin.

Let me do add that yes skincare is expensive, but Kate Somerville is pretty reasonable. It's a happy medium in price range. But believe me skincare is an investment that you won't want to be cheap on. It will defiantly be worth it in the end. In 20 years from now when you're 'old' and everyone is telling you look like you're 20 you will thank me. #YoureWelcome Check out Kate's whole line and find what works best for you. Or go into Nordstrom and talk to specialist and get samples and try it out. P.S. if you live in Dallas I work at Nordstrom Northpark Center and would love to help you find the right skincare for you. Come on into our Beauty Spot and ask for Caitlin.

I got asked several times yesterday where I got my coatigan. Which I am proud to say Cotton On. They have amazing basics for unbeatable prices. If you know me then you know I hardly ever pay full price for clothes, with Forever 21 being an exception. But this coatigan is normally $39, I got it for $29 plus 50% any other item in the store. I love bargains and pride myself in buying things for cheap especially clothing.

<<><>><<><>> C R I S P <<<> FALL <>>> A I R <<><>><<><>>

This cool crisp air makes walks with the little one a tad bit miserable. I don't mind it though. Since I've left Utah I have appreciated Texas weather more. It's already snowing up there, can you believe it?  Makes me feel a million times better. I loved living in Utah, but I hated that damn snow more than anything. Although it was a beautiful sight to see I prefer Texas weather any day. No matter how bipolar it can be.

I mean how freaking cute is this dog? Like OMFG adorable. I love my little Ziggy bear <3 haha that eye thoughhhhh, kills me every time

Napoleon Perdis has recently launched their 'Merci' lip gloss Holiday collection. It's goes for $39 and includes five glosses that  range from nude, brown to soft pinks. Why I'm obsessed:

-Not sticky
-Smells good
-Taste delicious
-Perfect colors
-Stays on

I cannot tell you guys how much I love this set. Probably the best quality of gloss you can get for a great price. It's a bonus that they smell and taste good too. How many times have you put on a lip gloss and it tastes awful? I also hate when glosses feel heavy and sticky. These have the perfect consistency and contain vitamin E.

Get yours here or come into Nordstrom at Northpark Center in cosmetics and buy them directly from me. #self-promoting #yolo
