Workout | Makeup

Going to the gym in Dallas is almost like going out. Excluding overpriced cocktails and valet, unless of course you go to Equinox.

But think about it...how many hot guys do you see at the gym? Now how many hotties do you see when you go out on a Friday night? The gym is a great place to find a man.

Now I know us ladies feel the need to always look our best. So how do we do it at the gym without looking like a hot sweaty mess?

No one wants to go to the gym in full force drag, or without any makeup at all unless you look like (Beyoncé). So I've broken it down to what is some of the best sweat proof makeup while still looking like a natural babe at the gym.

BROWS
Having brows on will help the face look put together without having to wear a full face. Most people don't notice filled in brows if done right. Stila has a stay all day waterproof brow pen that is fantastic. That way you won't sweat off them brows. {here}

EYES
I'm not a fan of eye shadow at the gym. It's too much and says "I'm desperate". I do think a little top liner goes far (not a full forced cat eye just basic top liner). I recommend using a waterproof one my picks Stila stay all day liquid eye liner {here} or Laura Mericer cream eye liner {here}

Mascara is a must for me at least. It makes the eyes look more awake and bright. My picks Trish McEvoy lash curling this mascara won't give you raccoon eyes and it's water resistant {here} also Maybelline Volum'Express the Rocket waterproof mascara {here}

FACE
A heavy foundation can clog the pores especially during zumba. I use a BB cream or tinted moisturizer. They are lightweight and still give the look of flawless skin without being cakey. My faves are Garnier BB cream {here}, Nars tinted moisturizer {here}, and Stila tinted moisturizer. {here} Remember less is more ladies. You don't need to use a brush to apply these try your fingers instead. BB creams are also oil controlling which is another reason why its one of my go to picks for the gym.

CHEEKS
I personally don't wear blush or bronzer to the gym, although it's difficult for some of y'all not to. Trust me I've seen you at 24/Hr (girl with the bronzer streaks). So if you must wear one my bronzer my choice is the one and only Tarte amazonian clay matte waterproof bronzer in Park Ave Princess {here} I got the bronzer in a sample trail from Ulta and fell in love with it. It's also my favorite bronzer to contour with.

Now with blush I suggest a liquid one like Nars Orgasm illuminator {here} it has a natural looking flush and is a universal color that looks great on every skin tone.

Hopefully this helps guide you girls for when getting ready for the gym. If you have any questions please comment below and let me know!

I thought I would also share what I carry in my gym bag. I think it's important to have essentials with you when you go to the gym. Let's be honest there is nothing glamorous about the gym, but we can make ourselves feel a bit more with a help from a few items.

1.) WATER. It's so important to stay hydrated when working out. I recommend bring your very own bottle. It's refillable and helps save our plant rather than plastic water bottles. Mines from TJ Maxx you can find them anywhere or {here & here}

2.) 1.M.R. (one more rep) This is a pre workout powder that I use before I go to the gym. It's a fruit punch flavor and works wonders. I only try to use a half of a scoop since a whole scoop makes me too hyphy. Basically it helps me stay focused at the gym and gives me a ton of energy FAST. I usually drink it on the way to the so that by the time I get there it kicks in. You can grab it at your local GNC or {here}

3.) Headbands and scrunchies you can't go wrong. I prefer cute ones ovbi since I prefer being cute at them gym. The Aztect one is awesome I love that it doesn't slip or give me a headache got it from FitChickHeadbands.com and they come in tons of fun designs {here}

4.) Facial wipes are a must! I prefer the Neutrogena ones I typically pick them up at Walgreens but you can get them online {here} I always buy the original ones in the baby blue packaging!

5.) Evian Mineral water spray this product is nice to have anytime anywhere. It's the easiest way to freshen up and cool your face off after a kick ass workout {here}

6.) Garnier BB cream is my holy grail love this stuff i use light/medium obsessed {here}

7.) Ormedic blanching lip enhancement complex.  Not sure I've told y'all about this product yet, but I own three or four of these tubes and can't get enough. By far the most hydrating, repairing lip balm I've ever used. This stuff knocks all the other drug store balms out the water. I use this especially at night before I go to bed. It's not sticky and feels like butter. Defiantly a 5 star product in my books {here}

8.) I know you're jealous of my vintage Conair baby brush. Had this gem since middle school and it always comes in handy. {here}

9.) Donna Karan Cashmere Mist deodorant. Bomb. Favorite deodorant ever. I don't even care that it's almost $20 it does the job and smells amazing {here}

10.) Hand sanitizer because after touching all those germ infested dumbbells and treadmills your hands need the favor. I pick them up at the dollar store because you can't beat a one dolla holla $$$

11.) iPod if you don't have music while you workout then you're just weird. Yeah I said it.

Of course I have red lips on my gym bag. Blame it on my makeup roots. The Forever 21 lips tote is sold out, but I found some other really cute ones {here} {here} and {here}

BufEx74

Saturday I went to my local Buffalo Exchange to check out their 40th anniversary. It was  unique and fun to explore the 1969 airstream pop up trailer. They had a ton of vintage pieces that they had collected for the tour. I am ashamed to say that I put down a fringed cream flowered detailed scarf. Which got snatched up by some chick whom I am jealous of now. Foolish girl for not keeping it safe in my hands. I learned my lesson though. Anyways, it was fun to see the trailer and all the trendy people around that day. I always love checking out what the employee where every time I visit BUFEX. They always have the best style! I know I can leave with inspiration from  their corky urban vibes.

D.I.Y. | Flower Crown

(via Pinterest for inspiration)

I say I'm a pretty 'artsy' person. Crafting calms and relaxes me. I have been wanting to make flower crowns for about a year now. Always had the supplies, but never made time for it. Finally I busted them out and got it done. I am pretty excited how they turned out. Thought I'd share how easy they are to make.

You will need:
Flowers: Michaels & Dollar Tree
Hot glue gun
Headbands the plastic ones that are stretchy(Dollar Tree)
Scissors

Take your flowers and cut of steams. I cut them down pretty short so that the wire isn't stabbing into my head. Once you've done that arrange them out how you would like it to look on your head. I typically place the larger flowers in the center and smaller on the outer. There is no right or wrong way. Then I grab my hot glue gun and go. I start gluing the flowers on from the middle out. This is seriously the easiest craft. So I'm pretty confident you can do it too.

When I'm not listing to
{Bèyonce}
Or any of my gangster beats I'm listing to Ellie Goulding. Pretty sure she's is my girl crush of the century. Last night I went to her concert with my brother and I had the best time. It would of been better if everyone and their iPhone's went to hell, but that wasn't the case. I still had an amazing time. Ellie has my heart and is amazing live. Hopefully she comes back real soon!

She was killin' it on the drums y'all

The BEST Makeup Remover

Good makeup remover? The struggle is real, but struggle no more. I have found an amazing eye makeup remover that take offs the blackest and most waterproof eyeliners/mascaras. The best thing about it is that its cheap cheap cheap. Actually the best part about it is that it is a conditioner for your lashes!

Being a makeup artist at a high end department store I dabble in some of "the best" makeup removers out there. This one smashes all others that I've used at work and is only $4.99. Insane, but believe me I loved it so much I had to buy one for my work bff. She tried and is hooked.

The opening has a tiny hole which is just big enough for a q-tip to fit in perfectly. As you can see I got one stuck in the bottle.

I know that Gold's Beauty Supply in Mesquite (Tx) sells it.

Hope Outdoor Gallery | Castle Hill

This is HOPE Outdoor Gallery

It's free to the public and is awesome to see in person. I recommend wearing shoes that grip well if you plan on climbing up to the top.  The graffiti changes a lot making it a unique experience each time you visit. Defiantly a place to check out if your in Austin Texas.

Address:
1049 Baylor St Austin, Tx

I took a random trip to Austin this weekend and fell in love. I've been to ATX before, but something stole my heart this time. Not sure if it was all the stylish hipsters or the random colorful walls of graffiti that gave me heart eyes.
Dallas is a rude, depressing, un-cool version of Austin. People here suck and aren't friendly. Its real hard to make friends and have a good time going out without people being judgmental. ATX is chill compared to DTX. So much more relaxed and free. Nobody cares about your stupid Louis Vuitton wallet, awful Tory Burch shoes, and your over priced handbag. It literally kills me sorry not sorry. Got carried away, just needed to put that out there. #truthhurts
Austin peeps are so effortlessly cool and friendly. I love the city and all the nature that comes with it. People walking on the street right down to clear water of Barton Springs. Everything about Austin screams Caitlin. I need it in my life and I promise you I will move there one day just need to get myself out of this Dallas bubble. Haha a girl can dream.

Rimmel London

Rimmel London's Moisture Renew Lipstick

"Innovative formula with 3 super Moisturisers. Lips feel up to 70% more hydrated and up to 60% smoother! SPF 20, Vitamins A, C and E for protected lips" -Rimmel London

Rimmel London has been on a roll lately y'all. Their products are no joke. They don't play around when it comes to color and quality. Especially for the price point. Such great pigment and the products smells pretty amazing for a lipstick.
I received this baby in the mail via Influenster. I was delighted when I saw that I got a bright fuchsia pink. It's a medium to full coverage defiantly not a sheer lip color.
It basically glides on the lips effortlessly almost like butter. It's smooth finish makes your lips instantly feel hydrated and soft. Almost makes me feel stupid for buying designer lipsticks when the quality is just as good if not better. I would recommend you get your little tush to the nearest drugstore and buy a handful. Because you will love the colors and will want a few handy in your purse.

Comes in 18 different shades mine was called:

and you can buy it ^

F L O W E R | P O W E R

TREND ALERT!!
Sunflower dresses are starting to make their way back into the spotlight. You better get yourself one now before you're too late! I found the dress above at Buffalo Exchange yesterday for only $12.50. They have a pretty good selection of sunflower dress if your interested. (Dallas location)

Speaking of Buffalo Exchange they are celebrating their 40th anniversary and are touring around in a 1969 airstream pop-up shop trailer across the country. I personally think it's bad ass. Almost everything being sold in the trailer was purchased at thrift stores, flee markets, and salvage yards. This makes the shop super unique and special. Literally everything from the racks holding the clothes to the shelving were made from old recycled goods.
More into about the tour {here} They will be in Dallas, Texas location on March 22! I'll be there hopefullly you will too.

Found these sunflower inspiration via Pinterest. Here my Pinterest link and follow me to see more!

Ahhh I'm so excited with how EVERY photo turned out. Shout out to Megan Mueller for living out a lifetime dream! She had always wanted to have her very own photo shoot that she conducted. It was a great experience for me as well. Hopefully there will be more like these.

Balcony Makeover

Being a homeowner ain't easy. But it's totally fun and awesome. Mainly because I can do whatever the hell I want. I've been extremely bored with my balcony lately. I've been relaxing outside more since the weather has been absolutely phenomenal. I felt my balcony was dull and lifeless, so I quickly took matters into my own hands. I love the results and feel like I have a balcony that fits my style. Now all I need is a cocktail and a cute boy.

Wish I would have taken a before photo. Kinda makes me sad I didn't.

Oh and I can't leave the front door empty. I finally found a fun plant that goes with my pot perfectly. Thanks Home Depot.
