Crown Braid Tutorial

The Heidi Dutch Halo Goddess Crown Braid. #mouthful But I can't think of a better way to describe it.

Girls this seriously is so much easier than it looks. #promise
1. Put hair in two pony tails (use clear elastics & place it behind/below your ears)
2. Braid each pony make tight!
3. Loosen them up! Start at the bottom & tug braids to make wider .
4. Now take braid 1 & fold it up & over onto noggin.
5. Repeat on other side with the second braid
*Depending on how you want it to look you can place the braids closer to the forehead, or away.*
6. Use bobby pins to secure braids onto head.
7. Tuck ends into opposite braid & VOILA!
F.Y.I. *I cut the clear elastics to make a cleaner look*
P.S.S I'm wearing 18'in clip in extensions & put them on upside down. (so that you can't see the tracks)

Klyde Warren Park

Went to the park yesterday with the pup and roomie.  Never been to Klyde Warren Park, but I must say that I was impressed. It's a beautiful and modern. Makes me feel like I'm in a fun city! If you live in Dallas and haven't been I suggest you go. They even have a dog park inside it. Be careful though if you blink you might miss it. #itsmini

Did I mention the park is built over a freeway?

Sugar, Sugar

Why exfoliate your lips? Because nobody likes dry, cracked, lizard skin lips. I always exfoliate my clients lips before I apply lipstick. This allows the lipstick to lay on the lips flawlessly. Have you ever put lipstick on when they are cracked? It doesn't look so pretty. Why? Because the lipstick lays deep within the lines of your lips? Making them appear uneven. #deadskin #ew When I was in Utah Whitney and I made ourselves some homemade sugar lip scrub. Might I add that it was delicious and edible. Ingredients and directions below.

Basically add all ingredients together. I put them into an old mason jar. Then I used a skewer stick to mix them together. You might need to add more sugar to get the right consistency. I like mine very grainy. Makes it feels like my lips are getting a better scrub. Put the jar in the fridge and it's good for about 2 weeks. Kiss Kiss!

Twelve Degrees

Ok quick post: Had the best time while I was in Utah! My friends are amazing and better than yours. Monday Whitney and I had a mini photo shoot with our very talented friend Chantel. Here a sneak peek. P.S. here is her website WEBSITE. I highly recommend you use her if you want the best photos.

It was probably the coldest day in Utah when we did this. My face felt like botox by the end. I'm pretty sure one of my toes fell off due to the cold, but it was totally worth it.

Sometimes I am blown away by how many clients I get that don't exfoliate. It's very important to exfoliate because it removes the dead cells that dulls skin's appearance. Also it unplugs pores and can provide a healthy glow. It's the key to vibrant skin. So scrub your face it's good for you!

I can't tell you enough how much I love Freeze 24-7's 'Icecrystals' anti age prep exfoliating polish. I just want to scream it off a mountain top!!!! This stuff is AMAZING. #nojoke I am literally obsessed with it. Hands down the world's best facial exfoliator. It leaves my face feeling soft like a baby's bottom. It crazy how much better my skin looks/feels after using it. (more info HERE) $65

Now to my absolute favorite lip scrub. This goes to Sara Happ. She's a genius. This is the tastiest scrub I have ever used. Plus it's edible! It comes in all sorts of flavors such as red velvet cake, brown sugar, vanilla bean, peppermint, and so on. I have the coco flavored one as you can see. (more info HERE) $24

What would I do without my Clarisonic? This baby has made my skin so much better. It's seriously amazing if  you don't have one, where have you been? Get it HERE (Prices range from $119-235) What I especially love about my MIA Clarisonic is that you can use any facial wash with it. It helps deep cleanse the pores without being too harsh on the skin. I know they are pricey, but I promise you wont be upset.

Curly Hair: Tutorial

Here's a written tutorial on my signature curly hair. Everyone asks me what I use to curl, and how I do it. So I figure I'd blog about it. Down below are my finished looks. Scroll a bit more and we'll get down to business.

Hot Tools Nano Tapered Iron 1 1/4 in $44 (Ulta)

Spornette Little Teaser Brush $5 (Sally Beauty)

Oscar'Blandi Volumizing Dry Shampoo Spray (Nordstrom)

Hair clips $3 any type i prefer these kind (Sally Beauty)

You will want to curl your hair in three sections starting at the bottom. Clip all your hair up except the bottom layer. I usually section my bottom layer sixths (three long curls on each side of the face). Now here is the key, you want to hold the hot wand upside down with the ( skinny tip facing down). Curl your hair around the wand. Make sure you curl away from your face  This is very important. It will make the hair will look better! Then take you next section down and repeat until your finished. Spray with hairspray not too much, but just enough to run your fingers through. VOILA you're done! F.Y.I. I curl my bangs in small tiny sections to make it look more piecey.

Loved my look so much from yesterday I had to post. Top knot, check. Fancy necklace, check. Smokey eyes, check. What a combo. Anyway today is Friday, and you know what that means?? I'll be flying to Utah to see my favorite people!! Hopefully my flight doesn't get cancelled. Utah is having a huge storm and is estimated to get 2-4 feet of snow. Just my luck. I better bundle up! #vacayhereicome

Kinda obsessed with my makeup here.

Detox Water

So I tried Jillian Michaels detox water yesterday. Got the recipe from HERE. Instead of distilled water I used tap water. It taste like lemon water making it easy to drink. The weird thing is that it smells like peanut butter. I'm weird though so it might smell different to you. So far I haven't noticed a HUGE difference, but hopefully within a few days I will. Take for seven days. #LetsGetSkinny All you need for this drink is:

Water bottle to hold 60 oz (got mine at DollarTree)
1 T  100% Pure cranberry juice (no sugar)
2 T Lemon juice
1 Dandelion root tea bag
I also added one Truvia sugar packet

You can get the cranberry juice at any grocery I got mine at Sprouts. Same with the lemon juice. Now the Dandelion root tea is from Sprouts as well, but not sure if they sell it at normal groceries. Most likely at Central Market or Whole Foods.

Wish me luck

Nars Skin Care

"The best skin is skin that can reflect light."-Francois Nars

So this is my daily skincare routine. I love Nars and have been using their skin care for about two months. So far I have no complaints. All of Nars skincare is dermatologist tested. It is fragrance, paraben, and alcohol free.

Left to right.
Aqua Gel Luminous oil-free moisturizer. $58
Optimal Brightening concentrate. $72 (I have the old formula)
Multi-Action Hydrating Toner. $32
Gentle Cream Cleanser. $29
  • P.s. this isn't the whole Nars skincare collection. I really like their Total Replenishing Eye cream which is $58 I just haven't bought it yet. I also don't have the Double Refining Exfoliator it's $34 and to be honest I don't really care for it. I have a different exfoliator that I will blog about. But don't get me wrong I have lots of friends who love Nars exfoliator. It is still a great one to have.

I saved the best for last. Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. A.K.A. The essential skin care item to have. This baby saves me when I get a juicy red blemish. I mean it doesn't have to be juicy or red it can be small, underground, or just a zit that wont go away. This lotion makes any blemish disappear. Use it at night after you wash your face. Take a q-tip and dip one end into the pink solution on the bottom. Then apply it onto blemish. DO NOT shake the bottle. $17

FYI this isn't my full skin are essentials I will post more of my skin are later on. You're welcome.
