Get Creative

Hey guys here's an easy D.I.Y. for the holidays Or a fun unique gift under $30. It's super easy and anyone can do it. The UNG Drill is from Ikea and is $25 spray paint $3 from Walmart and Chalk Board paint about $5 from local craft stores.

You can get the drill here > UNG DRILL (I bought 2) So I thought I'd get creative and make a project out of them. Like everything else I spray painted them gold. They turned out beautiful and ended up looking super cute in my room. So much that I had to share with y'all. I left the frames empty and just hung them up on both sides of my bed.

FYI if you are one of those crafty people you can gift this to someone. I got a little bit more creative on this one and got some chalk board paint from Michaels and painted the glass. Then I got chalk and free handed some flower wreaths. Not my best designs, but it's something fun and cheap to do.

Nothing better than rocking this fall's beauty trends to the fullest. Boudior lips, defined eyes, bold brows and of course a beautiful contour. My favorite part about this years trend is the ox-blood deep statement lip. Finally a trend that isn't so boring, but stands out and makes a big impression.

Ladies and fabulous gentlemen let me introduce to you Train Bleu velvet matte lip pencil by Nars. This is my favorite emo/gothic/grungy lip ever. If you ever want to feel like a badass I highly recommend this color. I respect a girl who can rock a dramatic statement lip with no shame. This shade is the deepest aubergine you can find. I know this isn't every girls color, but ladies stop being basic and try it out. Trust me I'm a makeup artist. I get so many comments from strangers than when I wear my typical everyday peachy lip color. So if you have $25 bucks laying around go into Sephora or Nordstrom and get you some. Or if you're lazy order it here online. The pros about this product is that it's a stain so it last long time. It's rich in color and glides on easily. Now the cons are that it can be drying so apply a conditioning lip balm before applying the color.

Last weekend one of my old roomie's from Utah State was in town. I got to hang out with her just like old times.  Plus I got to do her makeup. She made my job easy which is obvious since she's such a babe. It was great seeing an old friend even if it was just for a day. Her hubby is applying to medical school.  They have been traveling to different places to apply. But let's cross our fingers they get accepted in Dallas. If they do then theres a chance that they can move out here and that would be awesome. I wouldn't mind having a one of my "Gina's" down here in the south with me.

Winter SKINCARE Routine

With Dallas being 75 one day and the 40 the next my poor skin can't keep up. My face is breaking out and is extremely dry. It's the worst. I just hate it when my skin is flaking. So I have decide to up my skincare game. I've invested in a hydrating serum, moisturizer, and exfoliator.

When I say 'invested' I mean it. Good skincare that works doesn't come cheap. Everyone should know this. I'd rather splurge on quality products for my face than cosmetics. Think about it. When your face looks and feels good you don't want to apply as much makeup.

I know I'm young but I feel that starting good skincare at 25 is crucial. Now is the time. I've heard several older women say that they wish they had paid for quality skincare when they were younger. #Trust

So here's the scoop, Kate Somerville is a skincare god. I have been using these three products for a little over a month and seen great results. It's all about taking time for your face, being consistent, and ALWAYS washing your face at night. Number 1 you need a active extoliator. Number 2 you NEED a serum I prefer a hydrating one since I'm extra dry. Finally number 3 moisturizer this is key to keeping your skin feeling it's best. (oh and having an eye cream is important too) I just haven't found 'the one' yet.

I have tried several exfoliaters in my past and none have stuck except for this one. F.Y.I. this is a very VERY active exfoliater   I like to use it in the shower. Trust me you will feel this product working. It's deep cleansing and polishes hardcore without over-drying the skin. I use this about twice a week.

Quench Face Serum

This serum makes my skin feel so smooth and my makeup look better. I love the texture, and how it feels. It's like a silky hydrating dream on your skin. I use this daily and nightly. Sometimes I get excited and put 2-3 pumps on, but normally one pump is enough for the whole face.

Age Arrest Anti-Wrinkle Cream
If you didn't know all of Kate's products smell amazing. This moisturizer smells so fresh. It has a medium thickness, but feels lightweight on skin without feeling greasy. What I love about Age Arrest is that it diminishes the appearance of wrinkles, hydrates, and reduces discoloration of the skin.

Let me do add that yes skincare is expensive, but Kate Somerville is pretty reasonable. It's a happy medium in price range. But believe me skincare is an investment that you won't want to be cheap on. It will defiantly be worth it in the end. In 20 years from now when you're 'old' and everyone is telling you look like you're 20 you will thank me. #YoureWelcome Check out Kate's whole line and find what works best for you. Or go into Nordstrom and talk to specialist and get samples and try it out. P.S. if you live in Dallas I work at Nordstrom Northpark Center and would love to help you find the right skincare for you. Come on into our Beauty Spot and ask for Caitlin.

I got asked several times yesterday where I got my coatigan. Which I am proud to say Cotton On. They have amazing basics for unbeatable prices. If you know me then you know I hardly ever pay full price for clothes, with Forever 21 being an exception. But this coatigan is normally $39, I got it for $29 plus 50% any other item in the store. I love bargains and pride myself in buying things for cheap especially clothing.

<<><>><<><>> C R I S P <<<> FALL <>>> A I R <<><>><<><>>

This cool crisp air makes walks with the little one a tad bit miserable. I don't mind it though. Since I've left Utah I have appreciated Texas weather more. It's already snowing up there, can you believe it?  Makes me feel a million times better. I loved living in Utah, but I hated that damn snow more than anything. Although it was a beautiful sight to see I prefer Texas weather any day. No matter how bipolar it can be.

I mean how freaking cute is this dog? Like OMFG adorable. I love my little Ziggy bear <3 haha that eye thoughhhhh, kills me every time

Napoleon Perdis has recently launched their 'Merci' lip gloss Holiday collection. It's goes for $39 and includes five glosses that  range from nude, brown to soft pinks. Why I'm obsessed:

-Not sticky
-Smells good
-Taste delicious
-Perfect colors
-Stays on

I cannot tell you guys how much I love this set. Probably the best quality of gloss you can get for a great price. It's a bonus that they smell and taste good too. How many times have you put on a lip gloss and it tastes awful? I also hate when glosses feel heavy and sticky. These have the perfect consistency and contain vitamin E.

Get yours here or come into Nordstrom at Northpark Center in cosmetics and buy them directly from me. #self-promoting #yolo

I have a weakness for Urban Outfitters. Let's be honest who doesn't? But I have an even more weakness for snapbacks. My collection of them is coming along nicely. I found this floral print Profound Aesthetic hat the other day and fell in love.

Get it here for $42

I purchased the NYX Butt Naked Turn The Other Cheek palette about a week ago. I literally have been wearing it everyday since. I have gotten so many compliments from the blush. I mix the pale pink (2nd one from the left) with the peachy one (3rd from left). Those two together apparently look really, really ridiculously good on me. I'm  loving the eye shadows as well, and did a really natural look with them as seen below. Hope you enjoy. Oh and this whole palette is only $25 get it here

So My tattoo...I'm kind of obsessed with it.
My brother Zach was the genius behind the whole aesthetic of the tat. He is a doctor and delivers babies. If you didn't know I come from a big family.  A family that lives 5-20 mins away from each other. (minus my bro Gav who is currently in Seattle) Since most of us are close we spend lots of time with one another.  Always going out to dinner or meeting up at the parents house. We're loud, rude, and totally raunchy, but I like it. With eight people in my family plus five nieces and two nephews things are always interesting. Anyways, back to my brother when he delivers babies he  marks a square if the baby is a boy and a circle if it's a girl. That's where he got creative and designed the tattoo. So each square and circle represents a member of my family.

From the top

Tom (dad)
Hazel (mom)
Justin (twin)
Zachary (twin)
Caitlin (me)

The twins have the same tattoo on their bodies. One on his right foot and the other on the right side of his ribs. Only theirs are broken up into two columns. Maybe one day all of us will have it, but that might be a little weird. For now let's just leave it to us three. Also another surprise I'm adopted. Somehow I got extremely  lucky and got stuck with five amazing big brothers and two loving parents. Making this the main reason why my tattoo is special to me.

6th st

How was your weekend? Mine was well spent with a good friend, and of course tons of sweet dance moves. Sweaty classic dance moves. I don't really like going out in Dallas too much. The people, the outfits, attitudes, and d-bags are too much for me. I always seem to  have a fantastic time at Sixth Street though. They play the right kind of music. Which is a collection of hip hop and gangster rap. Last Friday night they threw in some old school Back Street Boys and *Nsync which made my night. I was defiantly loving that. I just wish It was easier to make friends out here in the big D. I find the people here aren't as friendly. Not too much southern hospitality like you hear in the movies. Maybe I should pick up some random class or hobby to meet some chill peeps. Suggestions...?

I don't know about you, but I love changing up my room. Something about change and organization gets me excited. I love cleaning and can get lost in the zone for hours. But if you ask me to clean my room, that's another story. I can't clean on the spot. I have to literally prepare myself for when I'm about to clean. I have to sit on the ground and meditated. Music on and phone away.

Nothing makes me feel more satisfied then having my life and things organized. I feel like a woman *cue Shania Twain lyrics. I know it sounds weird, but if I could stay at home all day and clean I would. Sometimes I wish I was already married just so I could be cooking, cleaning, and baking. I would seriously make the world's best wiffey. I love finding new recipes on Pinterest. I have pretty good skills in the kitchen if I say so myself. So if any of you know any gorgeous single males in the Dallas area hook a sista up. I am very veryyyyyy single.

This cream blush is the bomb y'all. The texture is so amazing that it makes Bobbi Brown's pot rouge cream blush look like a joke. Chanel's feels like silk to the touch. It's not sticky nor wet. It's called Inspiration and you can get it get it here for $38.

It's the perfect soft pink that you can wear everyday. It's easy to apply either with your fingers or a brush. Place on the apples of the cheeks.

A p p l e

Holy Apples
Walking through Sprouts last night I was amazed by how emormous the apples were. Makes me excited for Thanksgiving. My mom makes the most amazing homemade apple pie. This year I think I'll help bake so I can learn her ways. My contribution every year for Thanksgiving dinner are the deviled eggs. Somehow I ended up being in charge with that dish. It's no surprise since I make them deliciously. What are your favorite dishes at Thanksgiving?

Puppy Love

Don't be cute.

Sadly he can't help it and I love it. Except when he thinks it's okay to drop a load at the top of the stairs. Other than that I love the hell out of this little guy. So fluffy and sweet always there to greet me with a waggin' tail.

Last Friday was my birthday and it was dope. Twenty-five should be a good year for me. Here's to the future, and here's to half way to fifty.

So my homegirl Stephany is a boss. She thought it would be fun to take me out on the town for my birthday. Only she had an amazing ideal to spice it up by us wearing fun wigs out. I of course was pumped up for the whole wig ideal. The plan was to get ready and pre game at my house. Boy, did we do that well. While we were waitting for the cab to pick us up Stephany thought it be a good ideal to take one last shot before our crazy night out. Well lets just say after that shot I was OUT. Luckily I happened to tap out before the cab came. So instead of going out on the town these gems tucked me into bed and wished me good night. #goodfriends Guess I'm getting too old for this #partypooper

Here are photos from my actual birthday night Friday Nov 1

A big thanks to my family and friends who my 25th birthday unforgetable. And a HUGE thanks to my parents who got me the most amazing present ever. Y'all da best!
