Crazy • HAT • Lady

If I haven't made it clear enough hat season is amongst us and I am happier than ever about it.  I pick up this gem a month ago at Nordstrom. I was walking by their trend accessory section and had to do a double take. Thank god my hair was straight and down that day or I would of never tried it on. It was one of those days that I should of stopped shopping and walked away. Since I had already spend enough, but my birthday was a few days aways and I felt the need to treat myself. If there anything my bad at it's self control. If I like it, see it, want it, I buy it. It's as easy as that.

Beanie • Season

Put ya' hands up if you wear black all day everyday! Welcome to the makeup artist life. Dressing yourself in black all the time isn't easy. It makes me feel like I have to get extra creative to make a 'uniform' stand out and look unique.
Being in all black can turn boring quickly if you don't spice it up a bit.  When shopping I tend to look for the less advertised pieces.  All the good items are usually hard to find. Seriously try to stray away from the first things you see when you walk into a store. Everyone sees those pieces making them more common. If you know me then you know I don't like to blend in with the rest of society. I like to feel different from others. I like finding pieces that are uncommon. Stuff that other people wouldn't think to try on or wear. That's basically my game plan when I shop. Oh and I always head to the sale section first.

I will admit that I enjoy being the bitch who has that one shirt that you can't find anywhere else because I got it on sale. Or that I picked it up at a random hole in the wall thrift store. It's my thing. I know nobody else will have it and can't steel my look.

Now I know that I just sounded like the most annoying girl in the world, but at least I'm honest. Don't get me wrong I love inspiring others, just sometimes all you really want is the credit where it's due. Can I get an #AHEM lol That's where is amazing fringe jacket comes in...
I purchased this baby at Forever 21, yes I said Forever 21 about a year ago. So good luck finding it lol It's really hard finding a good black fringe jacket theses days. Honestly I don't even know where to begin to look for one. Maybe thrift stores and consignment shops would be your best luck.

Have I mentioned that this rustic color is probably my favorite ever. I got it at the one and only  Urban Outfitters. Ugh...I hate that I love that place. I want to buy the whole store every time I go in. They always have the best sale section 24/7. Literally their sale section is always on point. If you take anything from this post just please note to never ever forgot to check out the sale sec ions first.

This 'Think Pink' lipstick by Wet N' Wild is the sh*t. I have been wearing this color religiously. It's the only color I bring with me when I leave the house. That says a lot because before I leave anywhere I have to have at least 3 different lip colors in whatever bag I'm carrying that day. #LipstickQueenProbz

Hair • Face • Body

For those of you who read my blog I apologize for being MIA. I was too busy working on my tan in Mexico. Seriously though I feel awful, jk let's be honest I don't feel bad. Since I've been gone I have found some pretty amazing life changing products. If you know me then you know my bathroom is filled with all sorts of new/old products that I'm constantly experimenting with.

First let's talk BB cream. That special all in one product for the face that we all love. If you haven't tried a BB cream yet then you obviously live on another planet. They are EVERYWHERE in drugstores and in department stores galore. We all know I love the Garnier BB Cream, but I wanted to branch out and try something new. Which I was pleasantly surprised the first time when I tried this Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream. It has amazing coverage a bit more than my Gariner. What makes this one special is the 2% Salicylic-acid. Which  is what my acne prone skin needs. I liked how this foundation wears and looks *cue photo below

My poor drawers are filled with gallons of body lotions that I've probably only used a few times due to my stubbornness. If I don't like a body lotion and how it feels I'll completely stop using it. Even if I only touched it once or twice. So bad that I have bottles hoarded all around mi casa.
I want to try to like them, but either they are too sticky/wet feeling or they feel just smell pretty and do nothing to quench my dull dry skin.
All has changed and now I can say I've found the one. I literally purchased it expecting the same thing like all the others. I needed a bottle of lotion for my trip to Mexico and didn't want to make the mistake of not bringing a lotion to a place where my skin gets beat up. (aka my trip to Ecuador) #blessmysoul anyways I purchased this because it was super cheap and smelled amazing. When I applied it on  it was as if my life was changed right then and there. This stuff not only smells beautiful, but works and feels like a dream. I can load up my body with tons of this lotions and get in bed without my skin sticking to the sheets. This is a big deal because getting into the sheets and your legs instantly feels sweaty/tacky against them drives me insane. Now I have a cure and I feel like I haven't had ashy legs in days y'all need this stuff in yo' life trust me. Oh and it's under $5 at Walmart St.Ives Body Lotion

Now on to the biggest drama in my life....my naturally curly hair. Yes I know I might be a little too dramatic about this subject, but it's the most sensitive one in my life right now. With me trying to be loyal on this "Hair Journey" times can be difficult. Seriously hair product aren't cheap especially when you're trying to figure out which one satisfies you while working wonders for your curls. I can honestly say this is the seconded life changing product for me right now in this exact moment in my life. #Hallelujah Ok first off this stuff smells likes dreams I'm not even kidding. It smells like the most magical dryer sheet you have ever smelled. If you're into that kind of stuff. It basically smells like fabric softener...mmmhmm! I will say less is more when applying to your wet hair. I never learn this lesson, but baby steps. It makes my hair feel so incredibly soft without all the frizz. Even when I have applied too much product it has never felt crunchy which is a HUGE plus. I need to take some better photos of my curls, but for now here is a selfie with them in Mexico.

(I've only seen this product at Target and CVS I'm sure more stores carries it)
P.S. still wearing my BB c ream here ^

Fashion Turbans

Recently all I have been wanting to do is wear something cute on my head. Hats are cool, but I get tired of wearing hats and need another option. Lately turbans/scarfs have been a huge influence on me. Thought I post some of my favorite I found of Pinterest!

Not sure why I haven't talked about Nekter Juice Bar here before, but here goes. If you want the most delicious smoothies, juices, or acai bowls this is your place. It is absolutely delicious. And probably the most fresh tasting shit ever. I also enjoy the Pink Flamingo smoothies as well. That's all and you'll be addicted.

Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip color

I feel like I'm doing a public service when I find amazing beauty products for cheap and report back to y'all. Maybe it's my love and pride for good quality makeup that makes me feel like a champion, or I'm just an over obsessed lipstick-holic. Anyways YOU'RE WELCOME :) I  have been using the Wet n Wild lip colors for some time now. I must say if you don't buy any of these after you read this post then we can't be friends. Because they are totes worth it.

Here we go! The pros:

Pigmented bold color
Long wear (stains)
Semi-matte
Cream finish
Hydrating
CHEAP

The cons:

Packaging
Breaks off easily if too much pressure is applied

Did you just see how the pros weighed out the cons by like a million? Seriously I cannot express how much I love these lip colors. Not only are they beautiful, but they stay on for hours. The pigment in them are beyond any other drugstore lipstick I have worn. The only downfall is that the packing isn't the hottest and the lipstick tends to break in half if too handled too harsh. So I try not to roll the lipstick up too far when applying it on. But other than that they are fantastic.  When you only pay $1.99 for lipstick then that's a freaking deal. Yes I just said A DOLLAR NINETY NINE.

Bare It All // 902

Dollhouse Pink // 967

Purty Persimmon// 970

You can buy them pretty much at any drug store, Target, Walmart, or online here >> WNW Beauty You will fall in love and want to buy several if not all! Enjoy!

Peachy Cheeky

Baked Blush by e.l.f.

Is one of those drugstore buys that I just can't get enough of. It has a beautiful luminous sheen that makes your cheeks look radiant and dewy without being too shimmery. I will say that the product isn't as pigmented as I wished, but that just means you need to work with a bit more. To apply I swoosh my blush brush into with a good amount of pressure. Then apply onto my cheeks I have to repeat this step about 2-3 times for the color to turn out how I like.

The color was what drew me in. I'm a sucker for a soft peachy pink cheek color and I cannot lie. So if you don't feel like splurging $29 or more on blush this is a great option for a budget friendly wallet.
It's called 'Peachy Cheeky' and is only $3 check it out  e.l.f.

B.B. Homemaker costume D.I.Y.

As we all know whenever I'm not being myself, I am BeyoncĂ©. I'm her spirit animal and she is mine. That being said Halloween is just a few days away and I thought I share a quick d.i.y. costume ideal. This is a fun one too! Whether you're in a hurry (like I was) or have plenty of time this character is easy to pull off. Who are we pulling off exactly?
B.B. Homemaker, she is a housewife from the 1950's who questions her lover "Why don't you love me"?. She puts money in the bank account, she's book smart, nasty in the bedroom, and is pretty much the total package. Here is a few lines from the song:

I got beauty, I got class
I got style, and I got ass
Why don't you love me?
-------
Tell me, baby, why don't you love me
When I make me so damn easy to love?
Why don't you need me?
Tell me, baby, why don't you need me
When I make me so damn easy to need?

PROPS:

Old telephone with cord (thrift store & spray paint it)
Dollar store plastic martini glass
Big costume jewelry (big rings & over sized necklaces)
Robe
Stockings or over the knee boots
Lots of hairspray and bobby pins

You don't need all of these props to make this character come to life. A few of them will go far and make the costume even more realistic. For example when I went out last weekend I barely had time to prepare. I worked until 8 and had to be ready by 10. I had to go home walk the dog, do my hair, makeup, and pick and outfit which takes time. Luckily my girl Stephany got me looking real cute at work by doing my eyes. Then I went home and added the tears down the cheeks. Which is surprisingly easy all you need is: water, liquid eye liner, vaseline, and a flat brush. First you want to tap some vaseline under the eyes with your ring finger and tapping it lightly below. Do this wherever you want the tears to fall down. Then you mix a little drop of water with some liquid eyeliner. Take a brush and dip it into the mister then dab under the eyes and follow down like tears naturally would. I made my eye a little too dramatic, so I would suggest leaving more space in between the tears and dab them a bit more thinner. For hair I just got a big curing iron and made hollows and literally pinned them down. F.Y.I. I suck at hair and this was the hardest part ever. Just be sure to know the more bobby pins and hairspray the better.

That's basically it, it's a pretty easy look to do. I had a lot of fun being in character. You really want big bold makeup in this look. So don't be afraid to try a black smokey eye. The more makeup the better photos you will have. TRUST ME. Just have fun with it.

This was at the very end of the night when my hair and makeup had melted off my face. But I will say that it almost made the whole costume even better than before. Oh and don't forget them false lashes girls so you can bat them eyes.

Here are a few pic's from the block party on Oak Lawn in the Dallas Gayborhood basically at the Round Up Saloon.

The Little Mermaid KILLED IT and my brother was legit as well (photo above) he was Gambit from X-MEN. Which who even know that was a real character I never heard of him before.

•OCTOBER•

Dallas doesn't want to welcome Fall quite yet, lucky me. Since it still feels like summer I won't take this pleated skirt off. It has been my current favorite. I've been obsessed with this rust color so much that I have purchased a beanie and a sweater in the same tone. It goes well with my skin tone and hair. I'm also a big fan of adding a funky necklaces with collar shirts. It really polishes up any look.

Let's be honest though it's a great piece to take into Fall. Don't believe me? Try styling the skirt up with tights, leggings, or knee socks. // here, here, here Add a cute sweater and top your look off with a slouchy beanie (here, here).

If you didn't noticed my new weave you better scroll back up and recognize. It took me forever to find a place that could match my hair color up perfectly. I went to several places in Dallas, but I gave in and drove out of the way to Gold's Beauty Supply in Mesquite. It's my favorite place to purchase extensions. I've been going to them since high school.
So if you live in the Dallas area I highly recommend this place. If you're looking to be matched and want feel confident with them being correctly matched then go >>[here]<< The staff is extremely nice and want to make sure you go home with the right color. I purchased 18' and I LOVE them. I've never bought this brand before >> Lord & Cliff << but I must say the are dope. Very soft and silky and they work well under heat and styling products.

Wedding inspired beauty looks // Loverly

Working in a big cosmetic department I'm constantly doing make overs and lately I have been doing lots of wedding makeup in store. Whether it's bridal party makeup, bachorlette, or the big day. I wanted to give you girls some of my favorite wedding day looks inspired by three different dresses.

If you need more dress inspiration you can find thousands of dresses HERE

LOOK 1

This dress is one of my favorite that I have ever seen I love the lace straps and the length. For this dress I recommend a soft eye (neutral colors) big lashes, and pretty pink lips & cheeks! This dress makes me feel delicate so picking the blush and lips are important. You want a soft nudey pink and not one that it too loud or it will be too much. I really think a matte foundation will make this look even more flawless. My new favorite foundation that is matte without looking 'cake' or feeling "too drying" is the Fusion Ink one by YSL.

Charlotte Tilbury lipstick // Bitch Perfect
Adrdell Double Up 201 // LASHES
Nars Blush in // Unlawful
YSL Fusion ink foundation // here

LOOK 2

This dress looks like it would be so much fun to be in. It has a ton of attitude and deserves makeup worthy of it. So I believe in bold lips and a deep contour to make it happen. Keep the eye shadow simple with only one or two colors on the lids. It's all about bold brows, bright lips, and a clean contour. Try a berry lip color to compliment the dresses' spunk.

Nars Blush // Luster
Nars Light Reflecting Setting Powder //here
YSL Rouge Pur Couture // 19

LOOK 3

My final look is that beautiful boho dainty dress. I love gold everything so I decided bright golden eyes and dewy skin is a must. The Stila 'Magnificent Metals' eye shadows are absolutely amazing. The texture is unlike anything else out there. It's perfect for all over the lid. I suggest a brighter cheek color such as 'Taos' by Nars. You want a lip color that will last all night so try a peach pink from OCC.
