Curly Hair Routine Update

I've been recently told that I have 'Kid curls', 'bouncy curls', 'spiral curls', and tbh it makes me feel pretty damn good. I get more attention on my hair than I ever have in my entire life since my hair journey started. Taking care of my hair has given me more patience and more self love than I could ever thought.

Before my hair was dry and extremely damaged. From the earlier stages my hair was kinda stringy and had zero bounce. The struggle and a million protective top knots, and lots of miserable 'bad hair days' here I am. With a much stronger and healthier curls pattern. It took a long time coming, but was definitely worth the tears to get to this level of curl.

I want to go over what I use on daily basis for my hair. Since I've been getting this asked a lot lately. This is will be helpful for you girls are out there like I was and had no clue what the hell to do with your hair.

SHAMPOO: $26
Ouidad Nourising Cleansing Oil
This is my favorite shampoo ever I will also sometimes use the Dry Bar 'Blonde Ale' it's a purple shampoo to help tone and brighten my blonde

Wash my hair 1-2 times a week and I usually mix the two shampoos together.

Conditioner $20
Ouidad Color Preserving Conditioner
I make sure to ring out or even towl dry my hair a little before applying it to my hair

Oil: $42
Kevin Murphy Young Again
This is moisturizing and also a heat protectant its the first thing I finger comb through my hair fresh out the shower

Spray: $6.99
Dippity Do Girls With Curls, Curl-boost spray
The seconded thing I do after my oil I just spray it throughout my hair

This next step I switch out weekly and do one then the other for some reason I feel like my hair gets used to the same thing so thats why I like to swap them out weekly

Creme: $20

Cream: $6.99
Deputy Do Girls With Curls, Defining Cream

I apply these two products the same. I start in sections and really go to town and scrunch the hell out of my hair to help enhance the curl. I let air dry for a few minutes then I wrap it up in a tee shirt and let it sit for 45 mins to an hour. Take it down then diffuse dry it with my Curly Co Diffuser

Mask: $44
Curl Recovery Melt Down Extreme Repair Mask
My fave mask to use at least once a week. I apply this to dry hair and rat comb it out leave it overnight.

Hope this was helpful to anyone out there !

Dippity-Do: Girls with curls

So I pretty much bought the whole line of Dippity-Do girls with girls collection. I'm a few short products away from having it all. I just wanted to start out with the basics. I ended up buying more than I thought I would. The price point of these products are absolutely amazing. I got mine at Walgreens. Not every location carries the brand, but I checked online first beforehand. Anyways, I have some great stuff to say about this line and some not so great stuff lol let me begin...

What I really liked about this line was that it was paraben and sulfate free. I first heard the buzz about this line via YouTube and Instagram which made me curious. So I watched a few tutorials on them and decided I needed to try it out.

I started with the shampoo, which I can honestly say that I wasn't too impressed with. I really felt it did nothing beneficial for my hair. It might be because I'm used to my favorite from OuiDad.

Next I used the conditioner and I still wasn't impressed. I was so confused because every review I saw girls were loving this stuff. I didn't like that the conditioner didn't detangle my hair effortlessly. Which is one of my biggest concerns with conditioners I need them to detangle right away. I ended up applying a ton to see if helped and it didn't. I also wasn't fond of the texture. I felt it was too thin and not creamy enough for a conditioner.

After my shower I proceeded on to the next two products. I applied the curl boost spray onto my ends and throughout my hair. I really felt like this product did nothing. I don't feel like it boosted the life of my curls to where it was life changing. I did like that it was weightless and didn't add any crunch or flakiness to my hair. I have about three different brands of this type of product in my drawer and this is my least favorite. It really did nothing except smell good. EXCEPT for on day two, and three. This is a great product for those days you don't wash ya hair. I can definatly tell a difference using it by itself than with the curl defining cream on wash day.

The last product is a completely different story from the rest of the line. It was my favorite from the brand and is now used in my weekly routine.
The curl defining cream literally put the bounce back into my curls. I love everything about this product I would rate it an A+. I felt no stiffness or tackiness that you sometimes get from other curl creams. It's weightless and feels as if nothing is holding my hair down. I don't think any other product has given me curlier curls than this one. My curls have never felt softer and silkier. I notice I play with my hair more when I use this product. Only because my hair feels like a silk ribbon. I just want to twirl my fingers through 24/7. I 100% would recommend this to anyone who wants beautiful soft curls and lots of definition.

I also wait for my hair to be 50% dry before I used my Curly Co diffuser on them. I hope this was useful to anyone who is interested in the Dippity-Do girls with curls line! Although most of it wasn't the best I did find at least one product I know I can always count on forever as a staple!

The Curly Co + Briogeo

Finally found my holy grail of hair products. It might have taken years, but worth it.

My first go to product to get my achievable lucious curls is the Briogeo Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Avocado Leave-In Conditioning Creme. I kid you not this is the kind of item I would bring with me if I was on a deserted island by myself. It's that good. This product is so amazing and lightweight it defines and block out frizz while hydrating my locks. The whole product is gluten-free, cruelty-free, and contains organic products which is very important to me. I like to know that I am putting 'good' into my hair. Not only does this product enhances my natural ringlets it has encouraged more curls than I ever knew I was capable of. I also want to note that this product is free of fragrances, dyes, silicone and is 90% naturally-derived.

I heard about a silicon collapsible diffuser head on the 'Gram'. I saw that they sell it on Amazon, and since I'm a loyal Amazon Prime gal I had to get myself one. The beauty of The Curly Co diffuser is that you can travel with it without having to bring your hairdryer. It's so travel friendly that it fits any and every hairdryer. It's silicone so it's built to stretch/skrink to fit any hairdryer. It's basically the most genius diffuser out on the market. I will say I have seen better more bouncier curls as well with this product. I also feel like it takes less time to diffuse my hair than my old one.

I mean I have never seen my curls look the way it does with any other products. Trust me I've tried everything and have spent the money on all the most expensive ones. Nothing has compared to these.
